Apple offers FREE Repair Program for Iphone 8

Apple announced a few days the launch of a new logic boards repair
program, which will cause the company to offer free repairs for iPhone 8
models affected by a problem that can cause reboots, freezes and
devices that do not respond.
According to Apple , a "very small percentage" of iPhone 8 devices has
logic boards with a manufacturing defect that will receive a free
repair.
To check if you have an iPhone 8 that can be repaired under this new repair program, Apple has created a website where your serial number can be entered. Apple says the affected units were sold between September 2017 and March 2018 in China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, New Zealand and the USA.
The problem does not affect the iPhone 8 Plus or other iPhone models, so just select iPhone 8 models that will receive the free fix. Customers with a device with the problem can make an appointment at an Apple store, contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or arrange for the Apple Support Shipping Service.
Apple says repairs may be restricted to the original country or region of purchase, and it is recommended that affected customers back up their iPhone to iTunes or iCloud before seeking a repair. An iPhone 8 that has damage that impairs the ability to complete the logical board repair, such as a broken screen, will need to be repaired before Apple provides the service.
The new iPhone 8 Logic Board Repair Program covers iPhone 8 devices affected for three years after the unit's first retail sale.

What to do if you are not one of the affected?
If you are having problems with your iPhone but are not one of the lucky
ones who need a free repair, there are a few troubleshooting steps you
can take to try to solve the problem before spending money to repair the
cell phone.
Your first starting point should be to ensure that it is running the
latest version of iOS. To check, enter the Settings menu, select General
and touch Software Update.
If you are already up to date and your phone is still behaving strangely, try to force the phone to restart by pressing the Home and Power buttons. Ignore the slider you use to turn the device off, and keep those two physical buttons until the phone is turned off.
As a last resort, you can try to back up all of your data to iTunes on a computer or iCloud, and then perform a factory reset of your device. Make sure you have everything copied before going through this process, as the factory reset will delete everything from your phone.
